[jira] [Created] (HBASE-26601) maven-gpg-plugin failing with "Inappropriate ioctl for device"

Andrew Kyle Purtell created HBASE-26601:
-------------------------------------------

             Summary: maven-gpg-plugin failing with "Inappropriate ioctl for device"
                 Key: HBASE-26601
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-26601
             Project: HBase
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: build
            Reporter: Andrew Kyle Purtell

In some environments, if the Maven GPG plugin is too old, GPG signing will fail with "maven-gpg-plugin failing with "Inappropriate ioctl for device" when running under Jenkins".

The fix is to specify the latest version of the GPG plugin in the {{pluginManagement}} section of the project's POM, currently 3.0.1.

        <plugin>
          <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
          <artifactId>maven-gpg-plugin</artifactId>
          <version>3.0.1</version>
        </plugin>
    ...
    </pluginManagement>
