   Adapter and data stream changes currently follow separate paths even though both affect the same underlying data stream. This makes related behavior harder to keep consistent across creation, updates, and deletion. For example, pipeline updates must handle adapter changes and direct data stream changes separately, even though both are caused by changes to a data stream.
