gnu tar and ant tar : conflicts

Using tar from linux debian to untar FreeMarker appears to give an
error. The Freemarker list tells me there may be differences between
the gnu tar of linux and the tar provided by the ant task. Any thoughts?

Thanks

tar -xzvf freemarker-2.3rc1.tar.gz

tar: A lone zero block at 23536
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

Re: gnu tar and ant tar : conflicts

Posted by Peter Reilly <pe...@corvil.com>.
According to the free marker page:
http://freemarker.sourceforge.net/freemarkerdownload.html
They say it is a bug in gnu tar.

Ant it apears generates a eof zero length
block, and tar version 1.13.93 whines about it and sets the
error return result.
but tar version 1.13.93-3 whines but does not set the error return result.
