Mevan problem with ubuntu

HI Everybody,

is there any body using maven in Ubuntu.
I have installed maven it went fine.

I have also installed m2eclipse plugin.

But if I want to create a project from Nexus repository list, its not
showing anything in the list.
It showing the following error message.

" No archetypes currently available. The archetype list will refresh when
the indexes finish updating."

Can anybody please help me.
