RemoteManagerHandler

Hi,

Wouldn't it be nicer to implement JLex in the remote manager class? JLex
can be obtained from:
http://www.cs.princeton.edu/~appel/modern/java/JLex/

I'm thinking about implementing the commands in a language other than
English; the current implementation would make such effort be very
tedious.

Hmm, I suppose this bug is fixed and people will see the date correct,
if they put the patch in the next release version.

I'm not sure how to resolve this, but I'm pretty sure I know what's
happening.

Outlook uses the Received header to determine whether the message was
received. James is using Italian to create the date, so 24/07/2001 becomes
Martedi, 24 Luglio 2001 (those italian classes finally paid off!).
Abbreviated that's mar, 24 lug 2001. Outlook sees that date and thinks
"March 24 [gibberish] 2001" which is 24/03/2001.

I'm not sure if we've patched the date generator since the 1.2 release...
I'm not sure what the spec says on this... I'm not sure if it's always
supposed to be in English, or Outlook is being funny here, or if this is an
unavoidable coincidence.

Date problem

Posted by James <ja...@itempd.it>.
I have a problem width date in my james 1.2 installation.
When a user send mail from an account located in the same
server (james server) of the destination, for example intranet
message system, the mail client gets wrong date:

The follow is a message I have send between two my account, when I try to
read
the message, outlook give me 24/03/2001 as message date in the inbox folder,
but, when I open the message it say correctly that te sending date is
24/07/2001.

Mails received from external server have right date.
Mails sended to external server are received with right date.

I18n stuff will help you in the defining the messages (user prompt, err.
msgs, etc) or even the commands in different languages; but the code would
be relatively difficult to maintain, you'd be faced with having so many
if-else blocks. Using Lex, all you need to edit is the input files; you
can define the scanner to understand certain tokens, and then have the
appropriate Java methods to be invoked each time the tokens recognized in
the input stream.

Besides, java.io.DataInputStream's readLine() is deprecated...
