[jira] [Resolved] (INFRA-10538) SPOF? reporter.apache.org relies on ldap1-us-west for logins

Chris Lambertus resolved INFRA-10538.
-------------------------------------
    Resolution: Won't Fix

Infra is not going to rewrite every tool that talks to LDAP to make it fault tolerant. Most languages don't have any facility for failover anyhow. We're addressing this by providing a load balanced URL for ldap in colocation facilities where it makes sense.

> ldap1-us-west is currently down.
> This appears to be the cause of login failures to the system.
> Whatever is checking the login credentials should not be put off by a single ldap host being down.
> This could be a config issue on the box, or it could be a problem with whatever handles the fallback (if there is one on that box).
