JavaScript Form/submit Function

Hello,

i tried to use the "document.forms[0].submit()" function in the onchange property of a "<html:select>" tag,
but i allways received the error message: "The object does not support this property or method". It must be the
submit() function, because i.e the "document.forms[0].length" property gives a result.

Does anybody got the same problem or can anybody help me
