WebSurfPortlet - Web navigation within Jetspeed

We'd like to announce our WebPagePortlet and ServletInvokerPortlet
versions to the Jetspeed community. We hope that these would be helpful
for other Jetspeed users and developers.

WebSurfPortlet, a new version of WebPagePortlet, allows Jetspeed users
to browse through Web content while keeping the portal view. The idea is
simple and explained in documentation.

NewServletInvokerPortlet, a new version of ServletInvokerPortlet,
similarly provides JS users to switch between servlets while keeping the
portal view and a single servlet registry for a portlet. The following
link has examples on usage.

Please visit http://grids.ucs.indiana.edu/users/balsoy/jetspeed/
for more information on these packages. Please feel free to ask question
or send your comments.

You may also visit Community Grids Lab home page at
http://www.communitygrids.iu.edu/ for other exciting projects.

Thanks to all of you for your support and efforts to make Jetspeed to
make a better product. We learn a lot from this community.

It's OK. We can continue on improvements on our versions and would let
you know about the releases so you could commit to CVS.

Ozgur,

What about the package name?
I believe it is required by Jakarta that the package begins with
org.apache.jetspeed

WeatherPortlet and donation issue

Posted by Ozgur Balsoy <ba...@grids.ucs.indiana.edu>.
David,

We're donating the source codes to Jetspeed in one condition that you
keep the authors' names and e-mail addresses in source files.

Also, there is another portlet at the site, called WeatherPortlet.
Please feel free to use that, too.

Re: WebSurfPortlet - Web navigation within Jetspeed

Posted by Ozgur Balsoy <ba...@grids.ucs.indiana.edu>.
There are links at the bottom of the page (i.e. OKC Portal which
extensively uses it) but both of these portals' content is based on this
portlet:

http://community.ucs.indiana.edu/okcportal/
http://grids.ucs.indiana.edu:2000/ptlportal/

All the HTML content except a small part of it, like welcome messages
etc is fetched from Slide servers where authors update the content using
its WebDAV features. We use an advanced version of WebSurfPortlet
however the idea is the same.
