C compiler directives not in column 1

Summary: C compiler directives not in column 1
           Product: Apache httpd-2.0
           Version: 2.0.36
          Platform: Alpha
        OS/Version: Other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: Build
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: Robert.H.Lowe@lawrence.edu

The build complains about compiler directives not being located in column 1.
This is using the ANSI C compiler in Digital Unix 4.0D (admitted an older
version). This problem only seems to exist in fileio.h.
