duh, i looked for this feature within the first 5 minutes of installing lo
because i needed to format my cover page.  the suggestion to "eyeball it", "use
table", or "use frame" is ridiculous.  the reason no one is complaining is
because it would be easier to use microsoft instead of wasting time trying to
convince a programmer why vertical centering is important.
