Tomcat Quickstart [WIP]

Greetings, everyone !

I started writing a kind of Tomcat HOWTO exactly a week ago for
publication on a site called the Linux StepByStep. This document is a
Work-In-Progress (WIP) at present, and I'm working as fast as I can on
it, given the number of administration questions appearing on this
mailing list.

Why start Yet Another Tomcat Document (YATD) ? Because I wanted a single
site/page where I could put all the notes I made about Tomcat, because I
have a bad habit of scrawling them on pieces of paper that I
subsequently lose. Also, because I feel that we can reduce the number of
"Getting Started" questions on this mailing list. The Linux StepByStep
site (http://www.linux-sxs.org) was originally created by a group of
people who wanted to help new and current Linux users with
easy-to-follow instructions, and I feel that maybe it is time for
Tomcat users to have a similar "community page", as it were.

I have posted my (incomplete) Tomcat document at the following URL :

http://www.starhub.net.sg/~cymbiote/linux-sxs/tomcat4.1x.html

If you wish to contribute, please email me privately. I especially need
the following :

- Installing Tomcat on Microsoft Windows (I currently use ONLY Linux)

- Integrating Tomcat with Apache
	- using mod_jk2
	- using Coyote
	- using mod_webapp

- SSL - what is it and how it works ? (theory only)

- Any other topics you may wish to contribute.

This should help people like Steve to get started, and head-off any
potential attitude problems on the mailing list.

Please help and thanks for your time !

Regards,
Yu-Meng Chong
