[jira] Updated: (RIVER-377) Regression of ServiceStarterCreateBadTransientServiceTest.td

Peter Firmstone updated RIVER-377:
----------------------------------

    Attachment: jdb-breakpoint-addPermissionsForURLs.pdf

ServiceStarterCreateBadTransientServiceTest.td

The conditions under which the test passes is just as interesting as when it fails.

When the test passes:

  1. A PreferredClassLoader is created for the bogus codebase,
     mercury-dl_bogus.jar
  2. It is unable to load the bogus codebase, because it doesn't exist.
  3. Then it's unable to load the configuration file because it didn't
get the bogus config file url right.

When the test fails in JDK 1.6, it fails but it get's the configuration url right.

It's possible this test might actually be passing when it should technically be failing, because no permission prevents reading the url.

Breakpoints set at:

stop in net.jini.loader.pref.PreferredClassLoader.addPermissionsForURLs

Parameter URL [] urls
