JMX console connection parameters

I am new to qpid and JMX. 
I have downloaded the qpid jmx console on my Windows PC. 
qpid (MRG) is running on RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 

How do I configure JMX port and username/password on qpid so that I can use
those values in the PC client? 
Are there defaults for these values that I can use to test JMX connectivity? 

Any help is appreciated.
