I found a couple of issues with the ant build running "ant dist" for the whole 
of shale:

1) If  "html.unit" isn't set the build fails.
2) There are a couple of compile errors with HtmlUnit 1.8 (fine with 1.6)

Either the build should be changed to download htmlunit and Commons httpclient 
automatically using the download-dependencies target or at least add an entry 
in build.properties.sample for htmlunit and modify the test build.xml so that 
it doesn't fail if htmlunit.home isn't specified.

I guess the disadvantage of downloading automatically is that different 
versions of htmlunit may depend on different versions of commons httpclient.
