My zknode's /zookeeper/config has this content:

server.1=dev-confluentzoo2014.sol-osl01.host.example.com:7795:7796:participant
server.2=dev-confluentzoo2015.sol-osl01.host.example.com:7795:7796:participant
server.3=dev-confluentzoo2016.sol-osl01.host.example.com:7795:7796:participant
version=0

This problem does not occur in 8.5.x.

Cheers,
Henrik

Hello,

ZkDynamicConfig is something that's only been added in 8.6 as part of
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-14371
I'm not familiar with dynamic reconfig in zookeeper, so I don't know
whether the client port number is supposed to optional or not.My reading of
https://zookeeper.apache.org/doc/r3.5.5/zookeeperReconfig.html is that it's
required, and only the client port *address* is optional

server.<positive id> = <address1>:<port1>:<port2>[:role];[<client port
address>:]<client port>**

Either way, ZkDynamicConfig isn't treating it as optional, so it's getting
a NullPointerException when it tries to parse it as an int. If you can
specify the client port in the /zookeeper/config like this (if your port is
2181 for example) then that might get you going

server.1=dev-confluentzoo2014.sol-osl01.host.example.com
> :7795:7796:participant;2181
> server.2=dev-confluentzoo2015.sol-osl01.host.example.com
> :7795:7796:participant;2181
> server.3=dev-confluentzoo2016.sol-osl01.host.example.com
> :7795:7796:participant;2181
