As another day has gone by I can report that running spamd with no specified 
user there are no problems and this config has now processed 105,000 emails. 
How ever, as soon as I change the user to -u spamd then it'll stop after 10 
minutes. For those 10 minutes all looks fine, then it just stops. There are 3 
users on the server with their own user_prefs but all other emails are for 
users that are not on this server.
