AW: Class loader problem with Soap 2.2 and Tomcat 4.0.1.
Hi Torsten,
I don't know if this helps you though I'm a beginner too, but I have added
the following to my classpath:
C:\Program Files\Apache Tomcat 4.0\webapps\soap\WEB-INF\classes
and it worked...

Betreff: Class loader problem with Soap 2.2 and Tomcat 4.0.1.
I'm having trouble running Soap 2.2 with Tomcat 4.0.1. The only advise
I've found on the
net is to go back to Tomcat 3.x. I don't have that option.
I've modified the catalina.bat file to give me the following classpath:
Using CLASSPATH:
C:\Tools\xerces-1_4_4\xerces.jar;C:\Tools\soap-2_2\lib\soap.jar;c:\Tools\soa
p-2_2;c:\Tools\javamail-1.2\mail.jar;c:\Tools\jaf-1.0.1\activation.jar;;C:\P
rogram Files\Apache Tomcat
4.0\bin\bootstrap.jar;C:\jdk1.3.1_02\lib\tools.jar
I've also dropped soap.jar into my
%CATALINA_HOME%\webapps\soap\WEB-INF\lib folder as well as in
%CATALINA_HOME%\server\lib
When I run the testit script for the addressbook sample, I get a list of
errors starting with:
C:\Tools\soap-2_2\samples\addressbook>testit
This test assumes a server URL of
http://localhost:8080/soap/servlet/rpcrouter
Deploying the addressbook service...
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
org/apache/soap/server/ServiceManagerClient
....
I'm pretty much stuck so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
- Torsten

This describes what is necessary to get soap up and running - I did it with
weblogic6.1sp2.
Your next problem might be accessing an ejb from soap...the biggest clue
that helped me to get this working was : you need to jar up all the classes
(Home, Remote, EJB and all generated classes) related to the bean put this
jar file in the CLASSPATH of the startWebLogic script.

WASP Server for Java (http://www.systinet.com/products/beta_jserver/index.html) supports WebLogic 6.1 sp 2. Not only as a soap stack. It also integrates WL security framework, JNDI service (you can lookup web services via jndi if you want), transactions (checkout our demo where you can call entity ejbs under transaction from MS Excel!), and UDDI.
