Trunk still in release/bug fix mode

Hi All,

Since we haven't got M4 out of the door, I would like to remind folks that
the trunk is still in release/bug fix mode.
Please be careful about committing any changes that could destabilize the
release.

If the release takes beyond the first week of Jan 5th, then we could branch
out and open the trunk for development.
