NO_COST filter... what causes this?
Hi All,
After some work, I've finally managed to bring our newsletter software
under the default 5.0 score radar but now I'm looking to do better!
For one of our newsletters, this NO_COST filter is scoring 1.7 points
but I don't know what causes it.
Does ANYONE know what causes this filter? 1.7 points is quite high and
if I can get this figured out, our newsletter would be under 2.0 points.
Any help?
Thanks!
Aaron

You could also use the Habeas mark in your mail - this is what it was
designed for, although because of the actions of some this might not work
as well as it should.

Try:
grep NO_COST /usr/share/spamassassin/*.cf
and you'll get entries like
/usr/share/spamassassin/20_phrases.cf:body NO_COST /\bno (?:cost|charge)\b/i
/usr/share/spamassassin/20_phrases.cf:describe NO_COST No such thing as a free lunch (3)
/usr/share/spamassassin/50_scores.cf:score NO_COST 0.692 1.001 0.741 1.671
Short answer: Don't use the the phrases "no cost" or "no charge" :/
