Hi [~Chrizzly] sorry for not being specific. First time I discovered this was while editing a Java properties file. I was working with some resource bundles for i18. In macOS if you press a button long enough, a small box pops up and you can enter an accent or something. But it does work in a plain Java file, too.

We tested this on two different MacBook Pros. However both the same model. Same result. Happens in NB 8.2 and 10.

> Priority: Major
>
> *Steps to reproduce:*
> * Open the editor
> * Press and hold a `e` for more than three seconds (works with other buttons, too)
> After that the editor is frozen. You can't edit anything. Closing the file and open it again does not resolve the issue.
> Opening a different file has the same effect. You can not edit anything. The cursors does work. You can position it somehwere in the file. Scrolling does work.
> You need to restart NetBeans to make the editor work again.
