[jira] [Commented] (HBASE-2813) Remove requirement for ssh to do non-distributed mode

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-2813?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13096761#comment-13096761 ]

Harsh J commented on HBASE-2813:
--------------------------------

I don't think this is valid anymore.

- For pseudo-distributed mode, due to its generic nature (it applies to both regular and 'pseudo' distributed setups), one may use the hbase-daemon.sh to launch the node.
- For false-distributed mode, SSH doesn't seem to be used (HMaster is started as is, on the trigger host.

Please correct me if am wrong, or mark this issue as Not A Problem (now).

> It seems we require SSH even for non-distributed mode. Is it possible to not use SSH and thus not require it, just for the simple local box environment? (rburton up on irc brought this up)
