https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-84 is an example of a logo
contest using jira, that worked well...back in 2006 ;-)

https://www.apache.org/foundation/marks/pmcs#graphics has requirements
for Apache project logos.

https://www.apache.org/foundation/press/kit/ has the Apache logos.

I added the link to the confluence page for the logo proposals and the Image for possible new splash screens. I know the TM and so on is missing. Feather is not a must have, as I read it correctly, it could be a wish.

Thanks for the links!

I created #issue 145 https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-145

Contest ends on Nov. the 30th.

Good luck, everybody!

Yes, definitely, we Need SVG and PNG or JPG at the end. It will a better solution and maybe we can use the SVG for scaling Icon for the NB exec Icon or whatever. It is very good for the Website to have the SVG 😊

You're welcome.

The ticket says "Vectorial formats are preferred but not strictly
required" - I think the winning logo must be delivered in a vector
format, as over time you'll need to repurpose it.

Entries in bitmap formats are fine for judging but I would add that
requirement for the winning entry.

agreed with John and Toni, the 15th looks pretty well +1

Thanks all for your amendments.

I thought it would be a good idea to have a deadline, so that this
doesn't run forever, but the exact value of the deadline can of course
be adjusted to our needs.

Shall we extend this to, say, Dec. the 15th?

November the 30th? Only gives 2 weeks...

What happens if we open this up to the larger community? Blog posts
on Geertjans blog, DZone, JAX etc etc etc... will 2 weeks be enough?
