Cloudant videos discussing CouchDB
Hi, community-- I recently posted a Cloudant user interview to YouTube. The
company is Dimagi (https://twitter.com/dimagi), and we discussed the
features of Apache CouchDB that appealed to them and how they got started
with Cloudant. Dimagi makes mobile applications that health care workers
can use to manage cases in remote locations.
I think this video is good because it talks about CouchDB replication &
synch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iy1QbidqxMs
Here's the full playlist:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJa_sXrJUZb9x08JV42_fqEr7vyqgCIqF
Obviously there's a lot of Cloudant in there, but I tried to do my best to
make sure Apache CouchDB was well-represented. I have some more interviews
on the way, another customer interview with a startup and some IBM Cloudant
executives discussing Cloudant and CouchDB.
Thanks very much. --Mike

Nice, Mike.
An idea for how to create more of these «pitch & endorse» videos:
The format as I see it used here:
a story about the application developers by telling a story about the end users, Cloudant/CouchDB being endorsed as enabling technology
2 cameras to enable editing scripted message (many takes and cuts)
talking head to viewer, no interviewer
Tips for improving
both cameras in same position, just different framing (look me in the eye throughout, since there is no interviewer)
less pitching, more storytelling (at least for European audience)
Tips for ramping up (crowdsourcing) production
encourage developers do these productions
offer to publish, promote and return endorsemen by sticking logo to it after a review/QC and som feedback on first draft

Hi Mike,
this is really cool! One question - would it be possible to add the Apache
Logo at the end of the video? Having my Apache CouchDB marketing hat on
here ;-) . Please let this list know when it's officially released. We
should add the video (and upcoming ones) to our weekly news.
As we have our own CouchDB channel at youtube (
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCl-M9dloJFvy5vWlDkFGf3w) I would like to
add this and some other videos from Cloudant (especially this one
https://youtu.be/8BBN3BWkmMM) to our channel. Are there any objections
against this?
Thanks and all the best
Andy
