   I'm not all that familiar with this, so out of curiosity what problem does this attempt to solve?  I've never had an issue with this on any library before, but is there some use case that I'm not aware of?
   
   It would also probably make sense for this to be off by default, as it looks like the linker script will only work with g++/clang++?  That could prove problematic on Windows.
