That's unfortunate. The English download page 
says "Problem: Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 is not 
available for OS X 32-bit (x86) (DMG). Solution: 
Please select version 4.0.1." and the "System 
Requirements" link says "Apache OpenOffice 4.1.x" 
requires "Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) or higher". But 
yes: the "Pré-requis" link at the French download 
page says only that "Apache OpenOffice 4" 
requires "Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) ou plus" - which is less than helpful.

Apache_OpenOffice_4.0.1_MacOS_x86_install_fr.dmg 
and possibly Apache_OpenOffice_4.0.1_MacOS_x86_langpack_fr.dmg .
