[jira] Commented: (INFRA-3090) git coverage for new xmlschema tree

Jukka Zitting commented on INFRA-3090:
--------------------------------------
What should we do with the previous webservices-xmlschema.git mirror? Usually I'd just update the mirror configuration to point to the new svn location of a codebase, but the way you copied the code in smaller pieces makes it impossible for git-svn to follow the move correctly. There's also now no easy way to make git mirror cover the XmlSchema history before revision 1026699. :-(
The easiest solution is probably to simply recreate the webservices-xmlschema.git mirror using the new location, but that may be a bit troublesome for users who've already cloned the existing mirror. The alternative is to deprecate and eventually remove the old webservices-xmlschema.git mirror and create a new one with a separate name.
WDYT?

Benson Margulies commented on INFRA-3090:

I don't very much mind losing the historical track, but, as a result, it would be nice to have two mirrors. Could we rename the existing one webservices-commons-xmlschema and call the new one webservices-xmlschema?
