Body:
Perhaps something is not being GCed, but you can increase the amount of RAM that can be used by maven.
I run multiproject on about 40 projects with no problems aside from taking forever just because it is 40 projects.

Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: MPMULTIPROJECT-19
Summary: multiproject:site uses an insane amount of RAM
Type: Improvement
Status: Open
Priority: Major
Original Estimate: Unknown
Time Spent: Unknown
Remaining: Unknown
Project: maven-multiproject-plugin
Assignee: Brett Porter
Reporter: Jan-Helge Bergesen
Created: Thu, 29 Jan 2004 8:42 AM
Updated: Wed, 1 Sep 2004 6:24 PM
Environment: Windows 2000, Maven rc1, java 1.4.1_03
Description:
22 projects. Maven fails in xdoc plugin when RAM requirement reaches roof (currently 256M).
I'm not sure wether or not this is an issue with the plugin or Maven/Jelly, but I'm posting it here as it is this plugin that manifests the problem.
