[jira] [Created] (CASSANDRA-10588) Large number of tables increases
the cpu usage during idle time
Xu Zhongxing created CASSANDRA-10588:
----------------------------------------
Summary: Large number of tables increases the cpu usage during idle time
Key: CASSANDRA-10588
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-10588
Project: Cassandra
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Core
Reporter: Xu Zhongxing
Priority: Minor
When the database is empty, the idle time cpu usage of Cassandra is around 2%. But after I created 1500 tables, the cpu usage increases to 10%.
I checked with top -H and jstack and found two metric-meter-tick threads both consumes around 5% cpu.
If I remove all 1500 tables, the cpu usage decreases.
Is this a problem or is an inherent design property of Cassandra?
