what is the address match?

What is the "Address Match Map" feature in Party Manager?  What does  
it do?

I would like some input also.
so far is seems an orphaned feature. it goes nowhere and supports 
nothing, as far as I can tell. It only imports, creates, matches, and 
deletes key,value,sequence data.

It would serve to add to the address correction software, though.
