Steps to reproduce:

1. Download the Windows distribution (e.g. http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.lua/karaf/4.0.3/apache-karaf-4.0.3.zip)

2. Unzip the distribution, and use the "bin/karaf.bat" command to start Karaf.

3. Connect into the instance via an SSH terminal on the port Karaf assigned (e.g. 8101).  I happened to be using PuTTY for the SSH terminal in my test.

4. Begin to type any command, and then hit the "backspace" key.
