Sample Document for your own tests
Currently you can drag and drop contents from merged to not merged cells and
vice versa, but it is impossible to drag and drop from merged cells to merged
cells.
Steps how to reproduce with "AOO 4.0.1 Release – German UI / German locale
[AOO401m5(Build:9714) - Rev. 1524958 2013-09-20 11:40:29]" on German WIN7
Home Premium (64bit)", “historic” 4.0 User Profile used for all predecessor
versions:
0. open attached sample document
1. Select merged cells in Column A
2. Release mouse button
3. Click selected cells, try to drag and drop down few rows
Expected: works
Actual: Impossible :-(
4. Try to d&d merged cells in row 26 to the right:
> same problem
That's rather unintuitive.
Additional Info:
(a) that never was possible with OOo
(b) and it's possible in Writer, looks inconsistent
(c) of course I know about this "mere cells covers ..." matter.
(d) and it's completely unintuitive that copy / paste and cut / paste
works
(e) SoftMaker FreeOffice is able to do that without problems
(f) Gnumeric is able to do that without problems
(g) Also does not work in LibO 4.2.
