Really need local mail server
For NT, why is a local mail server needed, if I have access to a mail
server somewhere on the network?
I have checked the archives and the FAQ, but cannot find the answers I
need.

You can try to set the SMTP for outside mail server.
Jetspeed will send an email about new register..
