problem building on rs6000-ibm-aix4.3.3.0 using gcc version 2.95. 2

Sorry, more specific than last message... everything works ok until it
gets to the link stage, where makeC++SharedLib_r emits the following
error message:

ld: 0711-156 SEVERE ERROR: Binder command rename requires 2 arguments.

The command line is

makeC++SharedLib_r -p 5000 -o <libpath> <list of objects> -lm
-lpthreads_compat -lpthreads
