Why cocoon memory usage grows without traffic on the server ?

Hi cocoon community!

we have noted on our web server based on cocoon a growing of the memory used by the JVM although there is no traffic on this web server.

Under Introscope (monitoring tool of web application), I can see this type of memory usage :

My question is why memory is still growing up although there is no traffic on this web server.
Do you know what is the thread which consumes this memory?

Our cocoon based web app allows us to produce PDF/PS/RTF files.
OS : Linux
Version of cocoon used : 2.1.5.1
JDK used : JDK1.6.0_04
Tomcat used : Tomcat 6.0.16

Regards,

Jérôme
