[users@httpd] Wierd http stuff with PHP upgrade

I upgraded PHP from 4.1.2 to 4.2.3, and have some wierd stuff happening.

DirectoryIndex is in all of the virtual hosts. BUT
If you go to www.vermontherps.com, you get page cannot be displayed (from
IE) or Connection to Host is Broken, from Konqueror.

Some PHP pages load as they should, others don't.
Subdirectory indexes load, but php pages in those subdirectories don't.

I post this on Apache because Apache-conf and apache-common files were
required for dependencies... Is there something I should know about version
1.3.26 of these? Will Apache hiccup if Apache, per se, is 1.3.23, but those
two conf rpms are for 1.3.26? Thanks!!
