Google Summer of Code 2017

Hi Derby Community,

As part of GSoC 2017, I contributed to Apache Derby and worked on the query
optimizer. All the details regarding my work can be found out at the

We will continue to work on the optimizer and I think we have identified
some good points for improvement.
