[D] Does apache know to handle multipart/form-data out of the box ? (hop)

GitHub user enjoyy2 created a discussion: Does apache know to handle multipart/form-data out of the box ?

Hi,

Is there a documentation or a pipeline example somewhere that highlights how apache supports multipart/form-data content from a postman post request?

Thanks

that's for consuming RESTfull services. I need to expose this web serbice via web service metadata and process the request received from the client into apache. as far as i've tested, there is no easy way without custom handling the multipart to determine the content disposition the boundary etc..

Hey, I just had a minute to read the documentation.

The web service will not allow you to receive a multipart call.
Please read this guide:
https://hop.apache.org//manual/latest/how-to-guides/apache-hop-web-services-docker.html

I'd recommend that you place an API gateway in front of your business logic engine.
In that way you can loosely couple your api and it's security from the chosen data engine behind the scenes.

You can even have various technologies and version of those technologies without affecting your api.

Just configure the rest client as needed.
It will handle it fine.

Ah! Got ya.

I'm sure it can be done. Let me think about it.

Ps. I wouldn't be exposing hop.
You may as well have something like krakend feeding hop.
And that way you receive an api call and pass parameters.
