"Creating Skinny WARs" still up to date?

Hi,

is there still no better way to refer to libraries in an EAR from a WAR than outlined here:

http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-war-plugin/examples/skinny-wars.html

It's still a hack, IMHO.

Two points:

- There has been some recent activity in
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MWAR-21 that you may find to be of interest.

- That page suggests re-listing all of the non-packaged dependencies of the
war, in the ear pom. I've found it much more convenient to put those
dependencies in a separate jar project, and include dependencies on that
project in both the war and ear poms.
