HttpConnectionHandler- ClassNotFoundException _ Help

Hi,

  Configuration : Apache Server 1.3.12
	       Tomcat 3.1
	       Windows NT/98

I set the following at the command prompt.

   set TOMCAT_HOME = c:\tom\tomcat
   set JAVA_HOME=c:\jdk1.2

I ran the startup.bat and get the following error.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
org/apache/tomcat/service/http/HttpConnectionHandler
[ followed by]

 FATAL:java.lang.Exception: Invalid ConnectionHandler
   java.lang.Exception: Invalid ConnectionHandler
        at
org.apache.tomcat.service.SimpleTcpConnector.start(SimpleTcpConnector.java:133)
        at
org.apache.tomcat.core.ContextManager.start(Compiled
Code)
        at
org.apache.tomcat.startup.Tomcat.execute(Tomcat.java:157)
        at
org.apache.tomcat.startup.Tomcat.main(Tomcat.java:163)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I could not start Tomcat. Now I checked the
tom\tomcat\conf and saw that tomcat-apache.conf file
was created.

I inserted the Include directive in httpd.conf and
started apache server.

  I saw this message - > Apache 1.3.12 <win32> tomcat
1.0 running !!!!

 Fine Now if I invoked
http://localhost/examples/HelloWorld.jsp or any
servlets...I get a Internal Server Error 500.

  The modJserv file reads

[06/07/2000 13:15:29:410] (EMERGENCY) ajp12: can not
connect to host 127.0.0.1:8007
[06/07/2000 13:15:29:410] (EMERGENCY) ajp12:
connection fail
[06/07/2000 13:15:29:410] (ERROR) an error returned
handling request via protocol "ajpv12"

Thanks hope someone is out there !!!!
