WEBDAV URL accessibility?

Friends...

I am trying to access a WEBDAV resource via the URL
representation -
http://root:root@localhost:8080/slide/test1/run.bat

root/root is my authentication info and "run.bat" is
the file I have put in slide/test1 collection. 

But IE is telling "Cannot download this file" :-(. But
if I go thru http://localhost:8080/slide and browse to
the file. I can click and download it. Why is it so???
