[jira] [Created] (IMPALA-5517) Allow IMPALA_LOGS_DIR to be overridden by an environment variable.

David Knupp created IMPALA-5517:
-----------------------------------

Summary: Allow IMPALA_LOGS_DIR to be overridden by an environment variable.
                 Key: IMPALA-5517
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMPALA-5517
             Project: IMPALA
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Infrastructure
    Affects Versions: Impala 2.9.0
            Reporter: David Knupp
            Assignee: David Knupp

Currently, impala-config.sh sets IMPALA_LOGS_DIR to always be inside of IMPALA_HOME. However, there are times when this might need to be explicitly overridden -- e.g., if a Jenkins execution expects the log location to be in a particular path for archiving.

We should be able to override this by explicitly setting a location as needed.
