ApacheCon Template (Powerpoint/LibreOffice)

Hi,

Is there a Template (Powerpoint/LibreOffice) that we use for our
presentations ?

Remark : When do you plan to publish the sessions + calendar on the web
site ?

Regards,

This is the preferred tactic. The ConComm team will link to them from
the ApacheCon EU site.

Hi, all,
Just an update that I talked to the UX designers, Xin and Doria, in cc
list. They kindly agreed to help, and they are working on the template
design now (including the theme and background pictures specific to our
conference). It will take 1 or 2 more days, and hopefully we can come out
2~3 proposals for people to choose.
One question is: where to put those templates? One option is to publish
them on the Apache OpenOffice Template website, and give the links for
people to download. Any idea?

Thanks to Fabian & Lewis to point me to the logos & banners!
And thanks to Charles for the quick try out!
I will pass your comments to our UX designer. You can go to the
Numbering/Bullets dialog to change the bullet color, but it will be good to
set an attractive default color. And maybe a better scheme to align with
our logos and banners.
Will update you when we make the new template out.

ApacheCon Template (Powerpoint/LibreOffice)

Posted by Charles Moulliard <ch...@gmail.com>.
I have created quickly a presentation based on OpenOffice example template (
https://www.dropbox.com/s/tm6jj7617tzh026/apache-con2012.odp). I think that
we should provide another template as the title bar is too narrow, black
bullet is not really funny (I don't find option like we have on Microsoft
powerpoint to change the color).

REMARK : We should change the font used for ApacheCon2012 Sinheim logo. As
you can see (first slide) the characters are too small, elongated. Why
don't we use the same font as ApacheCon 2011 in NA ?

If you could do that it would be very helpful.

Do any of these suffice?

Why not the templates of Apache OpenOffice? (
http://templates.openoffice.org )

You can find some cool templates there:
http://templates.openoffice.org/en/node/8515
http://templates.openoffice.org/en/node/8511
http://templates.openoffice.org/en/node/8499
http://templates.openoffice.org/en/node/8513

I can talk to the UX people to design more templates for the our
conference and post them out (maybe next Monday).
Is there any special logo for ApacheCon Europe 2012 that we can use for
the template design? I went through ApacheCon website, but didn't find
any...

It's customary to provide slide masters in PowerPoint and S5, but I don't think we've ever done that in the past - and lots of presenters choose to use their own layout anyway, either to suit corporate purposes or simply because they don't like being told what to do!

Hopefully, the speaker will use ASF software for the presentations ;-)
Give Apache OpenOffice (incubating) 3.4.1 a try.

just my two cent,
