Seems svn did not want UTF-8 when I did a propedit, but my settings were 
sufficient for "normal commits".
I solved it by using LANG and LC_ALL, but according to my latest 
information it should work with ISO-8859 as well.

This is only a problem when using more exotic characters of course :)
