Portlet state reset

Hi all,

Is there any way to reset the portlet state without destroying the
portlet?

For example:
Take the case of a portlet which inserts some data into the
database
and then shows the status of the operation in another page. Then after
navigating through the portal if anybody wants to insert a new record
and clicks on the same insertion portlet, they will see the status page
of the previous insertion operation. But instead of this we need to show
the actual form where the user can insert data. How can this scenario be
achieved without destroying the portlet?

Thanks in advance.

Please reply to this as soon as possible....

Regards
Geo John
