g2d.drawImage error on PSDocumentGraphics2D
Hello,
I am getting a problem when I try to use the method g2d.drawImage(...) from
PSDocumentGraphics2D.
the error is:
com.ibm.ws.exception.WsEJBException: nested exception is:
java.lang.NoSuchFieldError:
org.apache.xmlgraphics.util.io.ASCII85OutputStream: field POW85 not found
My application run in a websphere test environment.
the interesting thing is when I am running it in the DEBUG mode the problem
doesn't happen.
Have you got any idea what this can be?
I am using xmlgraphics-commons-1.0.jar and Fop 0.92beta version
Thanks in advance,
Camila

well it's definitively to do with the test environment I am using.
Because, when I run as an application there is no problem at all.
I am going to run the code on the real server and see if it's going to
behave the same way.
Thank you for your help!

Well, if you don't acknowledge that the IBM JVM has a potential bug then
all you have left is modify the PSImageUtils.writeImage() method. to
skip the ASCII85 encoding. PostScript skills required. I'd switch to a
Sun VM first and verify that the problem is with the IBM JVM which I'm
pretty sure of. It could also be a class loading problem related to
WebSphere. But in any case IBM might want to hear about any potential
problems of this kind.

I am using
IBM(R) 32-bit SDK for Windows(R), Java(TM) 2 Technology Edition, Version
1.4.2
IBM(R) 32-bit Runtime Environment for Windows(R), Java(TM) 2 Technology
Edition, Version 1.4.2
but I don't know if changing is going to solve my problem, because the
application is going to run websphere environment eventually.
Is there any other way of adding an image to the PSDocumentGraphics2D
without using this POW85 constant? ( I am adding a jpeg imagem)
Thank you

I assume this has to do with your JVM. The "POW85" field is in
ASCII85Constants. I assume the JVM doesn't make the constants properly
available. What JVM are you running on (version and brand)? If you're
running on an IBM VM, try a Sun VM instead. Not much we can do if the
JVM doesn't behave as it should.
