Tika depends on com.googlecode.json-simple which is EOL (Google Code was shut down for active development in 2015).  However active forks exist such as:
https://cliftonlabs.github.io/json-simple/  which is in Maven here:
https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.github.cliftonlabs/json-simple
Requesting that Tika move to such an active fork.
