[jira] [Created] (HADOOP-8295) ToolRunner.confirmPrompt spins if
stdin goes away
ToolRunner.confirmPrompt spins if stdin goes away
-------------------------------------------------
Key: HADOOP-8295
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-8295
Project: Hadoop Common
Issue Type: Bug
Affects Versions: 2.0.0
Reporter: Todd Lipcon
Priority: Minor
Currently, ToolRunner.confirmPrompt treats a "-1" response to its System.in.read() call the same as \n or \r. So, if stdin goes away, it can cause the JVM to spin in a loop. Instead, it should treat a -1 result as a "n" response.
