problem with jakarta-ant-1.5Beta1-bin.tar.gz

hi!

when extracting Ant 1.5 Beta1 tar/gz archive, I get the following problem
:

tar: directory checksum error


the command was : 
gunzip -c downloads/jakarta-ant-1.5Beta1-bin.tar.gz  | tar xvf -

OS: SunOS 5.6
gunzip -h :   gunzip 1.2.4 (18 Aug 93)
which tar : /usr/bin/tar
uname -a : SunOS sparc120 5.6 Generic_105181-23 sun4u sparc
SUNW,Ultra-5_10

No panic on my side, I used another file from the Ant 1.5 distribution
(the .zip I believe) and recovered what I need.
