I would like to dig this bug up as I am wondering about its status. 

I have noticed that the number keeps increasing for the any document during an
editing session. All you need is to enter and leave preview. The number gets
incremented each time.

I see no point in having the number of times I have previewed the document
displayed to me. It's a very minor annoyance but I had to perform a Google
search that led me to this bug report before understanding that it's not a
revision number but it's just a sequential window number. IMHO, no user needs
to know that.
