Request For Tutorial =)

So, the formal tutorials are all locked down now, but I was wondering
if I can try to con anyone into giving an informal tutorial on
writing httpd modules, sometime at ApacheCon, for someone who hasn't
actually used C in anger, er, about a decade =) Beer, pizza, a
promise to convert it into httpd developer documentation if desired
(and if they're interested in having them), and long term (if not
eternal) gratitude are on the offer!

Thanks!

-Brian

HI

Unfortunately everything has gone to print but we can get it in the
email going out to the attendees. Please remember there is the ASF
members meeting in there somewhere and I think that may include some
of you? Not sure about the space we will look into that.

can you send me a sentence or two to put in the email. It goes out
Thursday this week. thanks

Charel

ok, it looks like slot T20 is open on sunday, which probably works the best
for me since I'm travelling on saturday (and leaving sunday night). since I
won't need the entire slot, and have my own tutorial from 10-1, how about we
say 4-5? that will give me a bit of time to recover :)

charel, can you arrange to keep the projector, etc around until then
(assuming it doesn't add additional costs, that is)? also, maybe it could
go into some literature, schedule, etc as a free tutorial or somesuch? I'd
rather it be even a smallish handful of people than just one, but I'll do it
for whomever shows up.

if it doesn't work out for whatever reason then I'll whip up a formal
tutorial for the CFP next year. something like "Apache modules for
beginners"...

That would be fantastic! Informal is exactly what I want (as I can
then completely derail anything with questions without feeling bad!)

Thanks!

the tutorial I gave on testing apache modules last year had a C-modules
section in it

http://www.modperlcookbook.org/~geoff/slides/ApacheCon/2004/test-driven-development.pdf

the attendees weren't really interested, though, so we skipped over it.

I'm only going to be at apachecon saturday and sunday, and I'm not a regular
C programmer, but if the idea really is informal I can probably ad-hock
maybe an hour presentation based on this module

  http://people.apache.org/~geoff/mod_images_never_expire-example.tar.gz

which is described here

  http://use.perl.org/~geoff/journal/22049
